Break
I've decided to take a break from life on line, at least until the turn of the year.
I'm not entirely sure why, I just know I feel overloaded with words, opinions and images etc, and a digital fast or retreat feels like a good way of cleansing my head and spirit for the prospect of a new year.
Andrei Arshavin, Arsenal's Russian striker, does a Shhh celebration whenever he scores a goal. And when he's asked why he does this he simply replies, Shhh
So here, with love, is a little piece of Shhh from me.
See you the other side of the year.

See you in 2010, Anna! As they say in Germany, I wish you a good slide into the New Year (literally translated).
It might be nice to meet for real in the New Year. Don't know how, don't know when. Come and take some photos of beautiful Montrose maybe. Spare room available. Or just a cup of tea.

I keep planning to do the same and then start shooting my mouth off again but MUST get back to revising.

I'm feeling much better, as I've finally shaken off the cough and feel more energetic than I have done for a while.
I hope to post next week when I'll have more time to do things.
We have really heavy snow here, which has been on the ground for over a week and just doing the basics feels like enough at present.
As I write more snow is falling outside, and I fear some tender things in the garden will have been lost, not least the fig tree, which will probably have to be cut to the ground. The birds are flocking to the feeders in huge numbers, and yesterday I saw a buzzard swoop down and take a starving crow from a field.
This must be our hardest winter for ten years.
Rachel I'd love to see you in 2010.I'll e-mail you and we could maybe set something up for later in the year?
