80 up !!!

The Birthday Boy

Shorter, smaller, host to uninvited
pain, he turns eighty on a high
July day, surrounded by the surviving
siblings of his spring, the children
of his summer, the grandchildren
of this, his late autumn.

Clouds are building, the forecast’s rain,
but nothing now can mar his day.

BTW my MIL looks like she has a beard, as my nephew wouldn't duck down!

Brilliant! Glad to hear the party was a success, bar the wine stains. Always the wine stains to remind you of the party.

JW's exhibition looks good from the pictures that Colin showed. I hope you're minding yourself now and taking it easy for a bit.

Yes! you deserve some time out now for yourself ... a great photo and a success by the sounds - family times are amazing and really , in the end , all that matters.
The poetry reading too sounds as tho' it was a success - well done!

What a nice man he looks. Some of my best friends are 80 plus:)
And how great for him to have a lovely poem written about him.
