Downtown

Petula Clark is on tour - she must be about 65/70 by now, but her speaking vioce on the radio today sounded just the same.

Here's Downtown, it makes me think of winter city streets when I was kid, and the big old radio in the sitting room, and my Dad singing as he washed up after Sunday lunch.

Seventy is nearer the mark. Not that I'm counting or anything. I believe she was born in 1932 but tends to be vague about her actual age.

She'll be like you Pat, still looking great as you both have lovely bone structure.

Petula Clark was once a cute Child Star.
Then she turned into a Pop star. Then she married a French guy ( a musician?) and became a chic European.
It's wonderful that we CAN, if we want, change (several times) as our lives move on...

Get a load of these dancers around her! The fellows look like they;re being given electric shocks as they dance.

She's great though. What a terrific voice.

Yes Jan she's had a stellar life that's for sure. I think living in France gives British women a certan cache - I also like Charlotte Rampling, and she aged reall well too.

Sam she has a fab vioce, not as good as Dusty, but it does have it's own unique sound.
