Karine Polwart

A youtube clip. She's singing about summer up in Shetland, and she mentions a heron, which as a would be poet is all right by me.

Hard to think of summer today as the light fails at 15.25 and I freeze as the windows go in, and the cold blasts through the house.

I don't envy anyone doing building work this time of year - nuts! Still, worth it in the long run, eh?

Hate all the dust tho'

That is such pretty singing - even tho' it's not gaelic, it still reminds me of the 'Sound of Mull', an LP (signed!) we have from our time of working in Tobermory in 1977.

I was supposed to be done in the summer, but the window maker and joiner srewed things up.

Still cleaning today, leaving painting to the New Year, I've no energy for it right now.

CB she is a Lowlands girl, but very talented, this year she's broken through into the UK market.

Lallans - *claps hands*, I just read a Haiku Scotland issue a few weeks ago that was entirely Lallans (with translations into English). I thought they were really beautiful!
