Breakfast

breakfast was……

a boiled egg with soldiers

pomegranate juice

a Bluey/Green MP, lifted over leaks

some blackberries from a terror plot

a bargain hunter’s trophy -
one Walmart worker, crushed

Thai flights that wouldn’t stir

and a piece - of pirate radio

tomorrow I think I’ll stick to toast ......

I read the news today oh boy

I too am overdue for another News blackout...but our Parliamentarians have gone awry and I need to see which Party has impaled their heads the furthest up their arse...
so that I make sure to never ever vote for them.

I am always struck by the fact that it took almost a week for Londoners to learn that Lincoln was assassinated and now we watch events unfold within seconds and often in real time.

It's all too much to comprehend.

You are both right the instantaneous of the news is too much to comprehend.
I watched a programme about the first showing of a newreel reporting the real action of a First World War battle -when people saw how awful it was and that people were dying before their eyes they couldn't quite believe and so propaganga in the moving image was born.

Now those who seek violence monitor world reaction to it in real time. It's as if the Spanish Inquisition stuck it's head out the window to ask if they should turn the rack one more time. I read that Twitter is becoming the place to look for real time reports by all accounts.

For me it was the news of a taxi driver murdered in Christchurch. So sad. You grieve for the world as you get ready to face your own day ... and count your blessings.
