A day to hunker down and watch Scotland play footie and Andy Murray try to live with Nadal in the US Open semis.
This is what it should be like. I went a walk in the hills on Thursday. The heather is still out, though fading fast.
I think the Gulf Stream has slipped, either that or the Gods are definitely agin us. A few hundred years ago we'd be burning somebody at the stake by now for the state of this summer.....
PS Scots write the best pop tunes ever and Annie Lennox is a goddess.

I've been thinking that too, about the Gulf stream, especially since the news of the huge ice shelf that broke off've Greenland during the week.
All summer we've been telling ourselves: ah, June was bad, but July will be better; July was bad, but August will be better; August was bad, but surely September will be better... doesn't look that way from here, now does it?

It's been sooo wet here this winter too. Including today - raindrops pitter patter on the roof as I type this comment. As they have been all day long.

It IS horrendous re our Summer. Funnily enough, I've often said how ( on listening to weather forecasts) Scotland often gets the best sunshine but it seems not this year..
And we've now got this chilly Autumn feel and m'socks are back on..
I feel cheated!
