Wisdom for the credit crunch from Dickens: “My other piece of advice, Copperfield,” said Mr. Micawber, “you know. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, and—and, in short, you are for ever floored. As I am!”

These are lovely pictures.
Autumn ( no idea why) "gets" to me more than any other season; I love it.
This one is particularly gorgeous and for no reasons in particular, I feel especially "happy"...
WOW!
Belle asked me to look at your blog.
Liked your photos, and it looks as if like me, you are another compulsive gardener.
Gardens are a cure for everything!
What absolutely beautiful pictures! So strange to be looking at everyone's autumnal photos while here spring is burgeoning.
Glad to read the "feel up" went okay!
glad the 'feel up' went OK ... love the idea of the tulip border - I need to think bigger with my garden!
Thanks all. Jan I like this time of year too, though I hate the short days and loss of light.
Beth, welcome and yes I am a gardening nut, though Barbara, my friend, is slightly more obsessive than me. We got all sorts of bare-rooted stuff to bring home to our own gardens. I've spent this afternoon shuffling things around in my patch.
AB - don't mention Spring to someone who is descending into the annual lights out as of tomorrow lol!
Belle - tulips are fantastic late Spring fillers. I love them when they are backlight in early morning light. Read Anna Pavord's book The Tulip for inspiration.
These are real beauties, and very recognisably yours. I like them all!
Thanks Lucy, I won't get the mammo on the good side for a bit, but hopefully it will be fine.
You're right you never get used to it, cos the first tme it was bad news, and you never trust your luck again after that.
I should have said this was in reply to the last post, :)
Wow! Stunning shots. More good luck on the checkups!
