Dream Academy
Life in a Northern Town. I absolutely love this song and it's available again on i-tunes
Wisdom for the credit crunch from Dickens: “My other piece of advice, Copperfield,” said Mr. Micawber, “you know. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, and—and, in short, you are for ever floored. As I am!”

You have a good ear. One of those opening shots looked like Haslingden where my Grandad lived.
It's a great video isn't it -really captures an area and an era. Oh those dark days of Thatcher -they're burned in my soul.
Yep Apprentice, it does capture an era. The song reminded me of the crappy tape deck that I used to tape the songs I liked off the charts each sunday (this was one of them). But the video was so eighties decline.
Oh yes I remember tapes, and making soppy compilations for my then boyfriend, now husband!
One of my favorites! So sad that this band only had two albums. Indian Summer from the second was also very good.
Hi Jason, yes I got Indian summer as part of the i-tunes wee EP deal.
Youtube has a great version of please, please, please too.
They were a great band, but they disappeared really quickly
