Who killed cock robin?

Himself I suspect! I've had to take the mirror away from behind the horse troughs as this wee eegit is intent on battering lumps out of his "rival", namely his own reflection. He spent the whole morning either staring at himself or flying at his own image. So I braved the rain and put the mirror in the shed, where it will have to stay until Spring as I suspect my garden is now in this chap's territory at least until then.

That's so cute! I loved the red-breasted robins when we were over there - they are an abiding memory for me of the UK.

They look so sweet and yet are so bolshie! I thought there might be a poem in the fact that they're so territorial. All the other birds just ignore the mirror and don't treat the garden as though it belongs to only them, save maybe the blackbird male in the breeding season.

Thanks for all the other lovely comments too CB - I'm coming out of my funk I think. The thought of getting away has really cheered me up.

I alway wanted a mirror in the garden but we have enough trouble with birds trying to fly through the sun room windows in spite or things stuck on to tell them its glass. Lovely colours.
