I don't know a thing about world music but these were pretty cool. The first one almost sounded Indian.
Super music apprentice. Ali was the best blues guitarist Africa has yet produced - even if he didn't call it blues, and Yasmin Levy was a revelation - so powerful.
Thanks Sam, glad you liked them. i agree it sound Asain in parts, but he was from Mali, but I guess he had lots of influences.
Yes Colin he was truly great. I take he point that the rhythm of the blues probably did go with the slaves.
I love Yasmin Levy, it's such an amazing tale of keeping these songs and music alive
